The Damaging Effects of Air in Fuel
As FASS has researched the problems of air/vapor on engines, they have found many books and troubleshooting manuals concerned with the same problem. They have also discovered that some of the world's most well known leading manufacturers have service topics concerned with air/vapor and fuel delivery. You'll see that fuel supply woes and air/vapor are discussed heavily in relation to many problems. We've discovered the following companies diagnosing many problems and relating air/vapor to be a major culprit:
- Bosch
- Caterpillar
- Cummins
- Detroit Diesel
- ADS, Association of Diesel Specialist
- Racor/Parker
- Milwaukee School of Engineering
Huge corporations and schools from around the world recognize air/vapor in fuel as a problem. We've listed only some of the symptoms air/vapor has on engines to help you better understand how serious the affects can be. You will be able to see these topics discussed throughout our documentation. Other factors can create these same symptoms however; we do know that air/vapor will cause these symptoms:
- Low Horsepower
- Low Fuel Mileage/Poor Fuel Mileage
- Excessive Smoke
- Injector Failure
- Hard Start or Will Not Start
- Engine Surges at Low Idle
- Warm Engine Runs Rough or Misfires in Operating Range
- Rough Idle
- Engine Will Not Reach Rated Speed When Loaded
Keep in mind that there are many changes that one can do to enhance performance; pistons, cam, number of valves, position of injector, timing, etc. Of all of these changes there are 3 constant variables that directly affect the outcome; exhaust restriction, air supply/ condition, fuel supply/ condition. Cummins stated 4 variables related to the amount of air/vapor in fuel, we'll cover 3 of them:
- Pressure on the Fuel
- Fuel Temperature
- Aeration to which the fuel has been subjected
First, we'll discuss "pressure on the fuel". Considering that fuel is a liquid the same principals apply; place a liquid under a vacuum, the boiling point will be lowered, vapor will develop. Place the liquid under pressure; the boiling point will be raised. As a vehicle travels into higher elevation atmospheric pressure is reduced. Atmospheric pressure has a direct relationship to the vacuum necessary to draw the fuel to the supply pump or injection pump. The more atmospheric pressure applied to the fuel level, less vacuum is needed creating fewer vapors. Reducing the atmospheric pressure to the fuel level requires an increase in vacuum, producing more vapors. This is part of the reason why engine performance is lost in higher altitudes.
Second, we need to factor in the" fuel temperature". Cooler (thicker) fuel produces fewer vapors while warmer (thinner) fuel will produce more vapors. The cooler the fuel is the more viscous it will be, the warmer the fuel the thinner it will be. Remember as the sulfur is removed it has a thinning affect to the fuel, thus producing more vapor. To summarize this;
- Cool Fuel
- Thicker
- Less Vapor
- More Entrained Air
- Warmer Fuel
- Thinner
- Less Entrained Air
- More Vapor

- "Exclusive" and "Only" Standard with all FASS Air Separation Systems! The MFR of the FASS continually “POLISHES” at the rated gph of the FASS pump. The MFR removes all types of fuel contaminants (Dirt, Air, Vapor & Water) during each pass through the FASS. With this Exclusive feature your giving your fuel injection system the cleanest fuel in the "World" unrivaled in the diesel industry! The competitors low volume return only cleans the fuel as it is needed by the engine due to the fact it only returns enough fuel to separate "SOME" of the air.
- "Exclusive" and "Only" Standard with all FASS Products! For every decrease of 3 decibels in sound pressure, it is roughly half the audible sound pressure. With our FST Technology, FASS has developed the quietest Fuel Air Separation Systems in the world!

be issued. Upon receipt of RA number, simply ship the package back
to Never Enough Auto in original condition and in original packaging.
Returns for replacement or exchange will not be subject to a restocking fee.
Returns for refunds are subject to a restock fee of 20% or $15.00, whichever is
greater. Restocking fees are not profit for us. They are to cover
processing, overhead and manpower. Restocking fees are not a set-in-stone
issue and are dealt with on a case by case situation at the discretion of
NEAA. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs to return an item
unless item arrived damaged. Shipping charges are not refundable except in
situations where an agreement is made between you and Never Enough Auto.
International Customers: Never Enough Auto does not refund duties or taxes
charged by your country for importation of foreign items. Returns
for exchanges or refund will be allowed only within 14 calendar days of the
receipt of your product(s). This will be verified through shipping
(tracking number). Merchandise must be NEW, unused, and in original sellable condition. Merchandise showing signs of having been installed,
modified, mounted, scratched, painted, or defaced will not be allowed. It's the
responsibility of the customer/installer to verify the correct fitment and/or
vehicle application before installation. For fitment issues, customer must
first contact the manufacturer of that product for verification before a
return/exchange can be authorized. Please email us for manufacturer's
contact information. Returns/exchanges must be sent prepaid and insured by the
customer. An issued RMA number does not automatically imply a
replacement or refund. All products will be inspected either by us or the
manufacturer based on customer claims before any refunds/exchanges are
issued. Returned items must be sent back to us within 20 calender days
from the time the RMA is issued. If the item returned to Never Enough

above conditions, it will be the responsibility of the customer to pay for the
shipping of the returned item back to the customer should the claim be denied.
Refused
Shipments
If a customer refuses a shipment,
they will forfeit all shipping charges of the item to them times two. Once
for the shipping to them, and once for the shipping charges we will be billed
for the return of the package. The item will also be handled as a
Return and will automatically be subject to a restocking fee per the discretion
of NEAA unless other arrangements have been made in advance with NEAA.
Unclaimed shipments and returned shipments due to nondelivery are also subject
to these terms.
Part
Applications Listings:
Never Enough Auto cannot claim to
know everything about every vehicle manufactured, especially when it comes to
special edition vehicles and submodels. NEAA can only go by the
information provided to us by the manufacturer of the product. We strive
for the application listings to be as accurate as possible per the information
provided by the manufacturer. However, it is also the responsibility
of the customer to be aware of the products they are purchasing and what models
they fit (Due Diligence). Should you have any doubt, or question the
applications we have listed please don't hesitate to contact NEAA or the
manufacturer for verification of fitment. Issues that arise from
inaccurate or incomplete application descriptions will be dealt with on a
per-situation basis at the discretion of NEAA.
Electronic
& Engine Internal Components
We will not accept any returns of
installed electronic components unless there is a manufacturer defect. In
that case, the customer can send the item back for a replacement of the
exact same item. No refunds will be given in this case, and the customer
is responsible for all shipping charges. Electrical merchandise returns
and issues will be handled in Warranty situations only. Engine Internal
components simply cannot be returned under any condition due to
their fragile nature - if something miniscule happens to them it
can go unnoticed and then blow up someone else's motor - we arent taking
that chance.
Damaged
Shipments
If a shipped order arrives with
obvious damage, customer is to call Never Enough Auto, or the shipper and file
a damage claim. The shipper is responsible for reimbursement payment for
damaged goods. Do not install the item! Do not discard the
packaging! If you do, you may be forfeiting the ability to make a claim.
