Just as important as the rack is the PUMP!!! Unisteer offers many different new and rebuilt power steering pumps. All of our pumps come with a limited warranty against failure. If it fails send it back and we will replace or repair. We can do this because each pump is internally set at it’s designated flow and pressure then fully tested on our state-of-the-art test stand for full functionality before it goes out the door.\nToo often, people overlook this crucial step, leading to disappointing driving experiences. Regardless of your power steering setup—whether it’s a rack, a box, a Unisteer Rack, or another brandit requires a specific pump. Each power rack or steering box has a unique pressure and flow rate for optimal steering assist. Generally, steering rack and pinions need low flow, low pressure pumps, while steering boxes require high flow, high pressure pumps, though there are exceptions. Using an old pump designed for a steering box with a rack may cause issues. If your steering feels overly sensitive, it’s likely a pump problem.
